I’ve been involved in Thoroughbred horses for the purpose of racing for over 30 years, my best horse being Swiss Ace. I can’t recall exactly how many horses I’ve had educated (broken in) over that period? It would be over 20. I’ve had some good and bad breakers over that period. The biggest problem I’ve found is breakers are very transient, here one minute gone the next. Which is as anyone can understand, is very frustrating!
So you always seem to have an eye out for a good breaker. About 4 months ago I saw a FB post for SB Performance Horses. I contacted Breanen with view to getting horses educated. Brea’s response was prompt and able to supply accurate pricing.
My son had recently bought a yearling, and we decided to give her to SB, I had spoken to other breakers, one of which had broken 2 for me last year, but communication was woeful. So I felt more comfortable with SB.
Anyway, we sent the filly to Stu & Brea, we received regular updates and photos. And the breaking process wasn’t dragged out just to make more money. The filly had the experience of the environment at Benwerrin Lodge and Beaudesert race track. The filly went straight from SB to Mick Mair at the Sunshine Coast, and took everything in her stride, no playing up in the new environment and straight into her first prep. Mick was very impressed with her education and will be sending more to SB as will I when finances allow. The same filly will be spelled in two weeks and then hopefully be ready for the early 2yr old races.
I highly recommend SB to any thoroughbred owner. As owners, we need to support these young business’s so they don’t go they same transient way as so many other breakers do.
Thankyou Stu and Brea

Bree and Stuart are amazing After my big boy came back from lease he was terrible he was rearing Bucking Wouldn’t go forward Came back not wanting to float And he was just unhappy I looked everywhere for trainers and found bree She took him and he came home after 6 weeks normal again He came back the way he left when he went on lease Bree continued her support even after he came home I’m so grateful I found them 💙

Thank you to Stuart & Brea for helping at the sale yards with an unhandled Mare & Foal. Stuart spent 2 hours with the mare putting a halter on and beginning the lead training.
